Feb 11 - Truth Speaks to Power: Justice, Advocacy and our Prophetic Voice

We think of Moses as the mighty prophet leading his people to the promised land. Yet when we read the story of his calling to this prophetic task in Exodus, we see that his first reaction was to ask, “Who am I to do this?” Just as through a burning bush, God reveals his desire to help his people through Moses, God also calls us, his people to help those who suffer and cry out for His help.

Epiphany: Yes! Let it be declared

Focus statement: Drawn by the light, we, like the magi, are sent forth in new directions. We are empowered to be God’s illuminating presence in the world. Arise, shine, for the mystery of Christ has been revealed!

Advent 2: Let it be so

Focus statement: We long to be comforted, we long for change. Moving from uncertainty and fear, we call upon God to make things ready—the mountains leveled, the paths made straight, our hearts prepared.
