In our final passage from 1 Peter, we explore the connection between Peter’s encouragement to the church to be humble, cast their anxieties on the Lord, and be disciplined so that they can remain steadfast in faith. To be steadfast is to be unwavering, determined, and firmly fixed. Becoming steadfast is about intentional growth like a tree – deepening roots, growing stronger, and reaching out farther. This rootedness is what Peter calls the church to so that it can face all the joys and sorrows of the world, secure and fixed in the grace of Jesus which offers us hope that outlasts all things.

Our passage in 1 Peter we explore the idea of being living stones, building the church and God’s kingdom with our lives. Recently our college and career did a mission’s trip to Cross Lake First Nation and served with the PCN Community Outreach Church, which is currently at work building the church to be an agent of hope and reconciliation in the community.
