It’s not our usual year, we are all trying to adapt and figure out what we can do and keep everyone safe.

Our vision hasn’t changed: We want to help children to know more about God by being in community and exploring the Bible together. All in a fun and safe place.

Some of the unique questions you may have about kids club this year:

How will you keep my kids safe?

  • If anyone is feeling sick, they will be asked to stay home.
  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask when inside the church.
  • Everyone will sanitize their hands when entering the church.
  • We will be asking you to register your kids each week and confirm that your child is healthy.
  • Boys and Girls will enter and exit at different doors.
  • We will have spaces marked at 2m intervals for when kids are in small groups and large groups and snack time.
  • All craft activities will have individual packets for each child.
  • Snacks will be prepackaged.
  • Girls club will be using the upstairs foyer and sanctuary as well as the lower level, to help with distancing.
  • Kids will clean their hands prior to taking off their masks for snack time and then sanitize again to put them on.
  • We will be limiting the number of kids at either boys or girls club to 24, as per the recommendation from the Manitoba Government regarding day camps. (There are no specific guidelines when it comes to church programs with kids yet.)

Will boys and girls always be separate?

There will be a couple of events this Fall that they may be together. A few of them will be outside, but still distant from each other. Another one will be in the sanctuary where they will be on opposite sides, spread out and will enter and exit at different doors.

Can parents still help or be in the building?

Yes, but you will not be able to move between areas of the church. For example, if you are helping with the Girls club or coming inside to drop off your girls, you will not be able to go to the west wing of the church (gym, library) where the boys are.

You will also need to sign in if you are staying in the building.

We will have leaders stationed at doors for drop off and pick up, so you don’t need to enter the building.

What should my child bring to clubs?

A face mask, a paper bag to put the mask in when having a snack and a labelled water bottle.

There will be no Club Suppers this year.
