Sunday Children’s Ministry @ FGMB

Kid Zone forming children of faith

Children from Ages 2 through Grade 6 meet in the lower level to learn and worship in age specific groups:  Mini Kid Zone, Zone one2four, and Zone 56.

For our teaching materials, we use a curriculum called “Shine”  for grades 1-6. You can learn more about this at www.shinecurriculum.com

Children in preschool use First Look from “Orange” www.thinkorange.com/firstlook

Mini Kid Zone (2 yrs. old – kindergarten)

Beginning at 10:45  children have a time to play in their small groups first and then transition to a larger group to hear the Bible Story for that day. During this large group time they sing together, give their offering and talk about the giving project, and pray together. After the Bible Story and worship time they will go back to their small groups for an activity connected to the story.

 Zone one2four  (grades 1-4)

Children are invited to arrive by 10:45 to take part in crafts and other activities. At 11:00 a.m. we begin our time all together in a larger group with singing, offering, hearing the Bible Story and prayer. They then gather into small groups to take a closer look at the story, share and pray with each other, and engage in activities that help connect the Bible Story to their own lives.

Zone 56 (grades 5-6)

We recognize that kids in grades 5&6 are not young children anymore but neither are they teenagers yet.  This group gathers in their own space to engage in the Bible Stories with teaching and activities that are geared towards their age.

Worship FAQs

When are your worship gatherings?

There are two opportunities to join our worship gatherings each Sunday morning. Our first service begins at 9:15 a.m. and the second service begins at 11:00 a.m. The music and teaching is the same in both services.

What should I wear?

When you come to one of our worship gatherings you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans or shorts to a smaller number dressed more formally. Please feel free to wear what is most comfortable for you so you can be at ease while participating in worship together.

What happens in a worship gathering?

Each of our worship gatherings last for about 60-75 minutes depending on what has been planned for each week. Each service includes times of joyful praise in a contemporary music style, corporate prayer, an offering, and relevant biblical teaching. Our worship ministries strive for 4 goals in our gatherings: Encounter God, Fellowship in Community, Bring an Offering, and  Life Transformation.

How often do you celebrate communion?

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper (communion) in our worship gatherings every 3-6 weeks. We invite all who are believers to participate with us.

Do I need to bring a bible?

If you have a bible that you would like to bring, please do so! We also have bibles available in the pews for use during the service or you can use a bible app on your phone or device.

Does your church collect an offering? Do you expect me to give money?

The offering is meant to honour Jesus with the resources, including finances, that God has placed in our care. Our members also offer their time and talents as a worshipful offering by serving others in the church and community. Please don’t feel any obligation to give when you visit.

I have a physical disability requiring a wheelchair. Is there accessible parking? Where should I sit?

We have designated parking spaces at the West entrance (rear parking lot door). There is also an accessible entrance for drop-offs and pick-up at our South entrance (side door). An elevator is provided for accessibility to both our upper and lower level areas. Our sanctuary is located on the upper level and has accessible seating areas at both sides and rear of the auditorium. Wheelchair accessible washrooms are located just off the upper level foyer next to the church offices and off the west foyer in the gymnasium.
